On the Rocks

Exciting news from Stomping Grounds Arthouse! Introducing On the Rocks, our free bi-monthly community playwright event – think open mic night, but for playwrights!

Here's the scoop:

• Playwrights sign up a week in advance for a slot.
• On the event night, bring up to 10 pages for a cold read by our actors.
• Enjoy live music as materials are distributed and roles are assigned.
• 7 plays will be read, followed by ~5 minutes of feedback for each playwright.
• Connect with the Portland theatre community afterward.

Details:

• When: 6:30pm-9:00pm on Saturday, Feb 10, Apr 13, Jun 1, and Aug 10.
• Where: ADX in SE Portland.

For Audience:

• RSVP appreciated but tickets not required.

For Playwrights:

• Fill out this form to participate. (A new one will be released for each event.)
• Selections are first-come, first-serve based on eligibility:Piece: 10 pages or less. Cast: Up to 5 actors (double-casting allowed). Content: PG or PG-13lite, suitable for all ages. Formatting: Please see the form for our list of formatting requirements. 
• We will stop accepting submissions once we hit 7 accepted pieces OR on February 3, whichever comes first.

Selected playwrights will receive an email with instructions for bringing pre-highlighted printed copies for cold-reading actors.
